Dr Kevin Hu

FaBA Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Kevin holds a Bachelor's degrees in biomedical science and chemical engineering, and a PhD in microbiological bioengineering from Monash University, Australia.

Kevin's PhD research explored the mechanisms driving cell culture heterogeneity in plasmid-based recombinant protein production and strategies to control or leverage these effects for bioengineering applications. He has also worked on several industry research projects engineering yeasts for recombinant protein production and biotransformation.

Currently, he is working on an industry collaboration with Fonterra, developing Life Cycle Assessment and Techno-Economic Analysis frameworks for precision fermentation of milk proteins and their integration into existing dairy infrastructure.
