Innovative Ingredients Program

Using cutting-edge technologies to develop novel ingredients that transform food and beverage products

The Food and Beverage Accelerator’s Innovative Ingredients Program brings together globally-recognised researchers who use sophisticated technology to develop sustainable, new ingredients that have the potential to transform a food or beverage product.

State-of-the-art infrastructure to create and test new ingredients’ suitability for industrial scale

  • Bio-manufacturing facilities—offer advantages to companies interested in high product design specificity, reduced environmental impact and sustainable production
  • Precision fermentation facilities—give food innovators precise control over the production process leading to higher yields and faster production times
  • The QUT Mackay Renewable Biocommodities Pilot Plant—a leading PC2 large-scale food-grade research translation facility for the production of novel foods, beverages and ingredients through precision fermentation

“Our program provides access to state-of-the-art facilities and data systems for synthetic biology— and our expertise.

Our researchers have been solving problems for industry for more than 20 years. FABA offers resources that most companies simply don’t have.”
