Ryangjun is pursuing his PhD at the University of Queensland, where his research focuses on engineering robust microbial hosts for precision fermentation.
Ryangjun completed his Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Convergence at Yonsei University, followed by a Master’s degree in Chemical Biotechnology at the Technical University of Munich. He carried out his master’s thesis research at ETH Zurich, where he worked on enabling the biosynthesis of unmodified small peptides in E. coli.
His current project aims to revolutionise microbial engineering for food ingredient production by developing a high-throughput platform to rewire gene regulatory networks (GRNs) in microbial hosts.
