Peizhen Gao is currently pursuing her PhD at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology in The University of Queensland on the biosynthesis of raspberry ketone which is a valuable ingredient derived from raspberries.
Peizhen graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology from Jiangnan University and Master’s degree from the National University of Singapore. She spent three years working in a joint laboratory, where she increased the yield of cannabigerolic acid by 66-fold through strain engineering.
Currently, Peizhen is focused on producing raspberry ketone—a valuable and popular ingredient derived from raspberries. This project aligns well with her previous work and leverages her expertise in biosynthesis and background in food science.
