Dr Isabella Casini

FaBA Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr Isabella Casini is an interdisciplinary researcher focused on the development of more sustainable solutions primarily within the energy and food sectors.

Isabella's research focuses on better understanding microorganisms and their role in creating a circular bioeconomy. She investigates their ability to consume waste and produce value-added products both in the laboratory and at the computer. She also integrates laboratory data into mathematical models to inform decisions about cultivation conditions and potential genetic modifications.

Isabella received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering in the United States and her PhD in Biology in Germany. She enjoys interdisciplinary, international and intercultural collaborations.
