Adam Smith works in the Commercialisation and Business Development team across the four FaBA programs. He is also a Senior Associate with FaBA commercialisation partner UniQuest (UQ’s Technology Transfer Office).
Graduating with a degree in Food Science, Adam began his career as a beverage RD&A technologist with a multinational ingredients company in Europe, where he worked closely with industry partners to develop and commercialise innovative beverage products. He later expanded his expertise in the pharmaceutical sector, managing complex projects and collaborating across technical, regulatory and supply chain teams.
Drawing on experience spanning food manufacturing, ingredients, pharmaceuticals and research translation, Adam now works at the intersection of industry and academia, helping companies identify, develop and commercialise new technologies, ingredients and products. With FaBA since mid-2023, he supports the formation of strategic partnerships and collaborates with industry, researchers and investors to accelerate the pathway from scientific discovery to commercial and market impact.
