UniSQ researchers tackle future foods with AI

The University of Southern Queensland threw open the doors for food and beverage manufacturers from across the region at an industry information event in October.

Potential partners learnt more about the future of F&B using artificial intelligence and other food manufacturing technologies.

Industry leaders heard from researchers about a range of research that will transform the food and beverage sector:

  • Tactile Sensing and AI for Robotic Beef Cutting, Dr Basem Adel Aly
  • Machine Vision and AI Applications in Red Meat Cutting Tasks, Matthew Shearer
  • Bridging Food Innovation and Industry Needs, Dr Enrico Hadde
  • Advanced Food Manufacturing Technologies, Greg Willis

The program included an optional lab tour, giving participants the chance to connect and see innovation in action.

Professor Polly Burey, FaBA Premium Food and Beverage Program Deputy Lead, highlighted the importance of collaboration.

“Events like this bring together the best of research and industry to tackle real-world challenges.

“By combining expertise and technology, we can create smarter, more sustainable solutions for Australia’s food and beverage sector.”
