Sharing the spirit of entrepreneurship: UQ Ventures Uncut
The start-up journey is a dynamic venture fraught with challenges – and it’s ominous that only 10 per cent of start-ups are successful.
For the founders who shared their stories at UQ Ventures Uncut, these challenges became stepping stones to growth and resilience.
Abbey Cameron, Co-founder and CEO of Nourish’d, shared her story of nearly losing everything by launching their tech platform too early.
“It was the lowest point. I kept coming back to the question: if we don’t try, what’s the alternative and can we live with that,” Ms Cameron said.
By keeping her head down and putting one foot in front of the other, her tenacity to learn from her failures and vision to persist paved her road to start-up success.
“The knock down was that I needed to make smarter decisions with less ego,” she explained.
The start-up journey is a true test of an entrepreneur’s mettle, filled with highs and lows. Those who make it learn a sense of resilience and the unyielding spirit of entrepreneurship.
