Kickstart your business through the FaBA Kickstarter Program

Business must continuously evolve and adapt to innovations in the food and beverage manufacturing sector – and FaBA’s Kickstarter Program is the ultimate ally for business.

The initiative provides businesses with collaborative opportunities, research support and strategic investment, potentially multiplying the value of investment many times over.

Hosted by The University of Queensland (UQ), the Program aims to cultivate research collaborations between FaBA researchers and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), breaking down barriers in the process.

FaBA Training Centre Lead, Associate Professor Nidhi Bansal said: “What sets the Kickstarter Program apart is not only the chance for Industry Participants to establish collaborative foundations with leading researchers at FaBA but also the opportunity to forge connections within the expansive food and beverage sector.”

Justin Nugent, FaBA Training Centre Manager, describes the Program as a tool to “enhance the impact of businesses’ investments,” illustrating how a $10,000 expenditure could yield $60,000 worth of value for businesses.

Successful applicants receive vouchers ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 for six-months, available to businesses across Australia.

The Kickstarter Program aims to match F&B manufacturing businesses with FaBA researchers, in turn, fostering innovative new ingredients, tastes and foods. This serves as a catalyst for collaborative research endeavours that further address industry challenges and promote growth in the sector.

Industry partners also gain access to expertise and world-class technological facilities across FaBA’s university partners, UQ, QUT and the University of Southern Queensland.

Applications for the FaBA Kickstarter Program are currently open.
