FaBA engages industry across Australia

Australia's Food and Beverage Accelerator (FaBA) continues to engage food and beverage companies across Australia and is working with industry to co-invest in projects that are bringing new innovations to the market.

Industry backing has ranged from $15,000 through to projects with more than $2 million of the industry investment being matched by FaBA.

Dr Chris Downs, Director of FaBA, said there are many exciting projects underway on new ingredients and many new products across plant- and animal-based industries, novel technologies such as precision fermentation and new technologies delivering healthy and sustainable products.

“It is great being recognised as Australia’s Food and Beverage Accelerator, and we continue to welcome new industry participants from across the country,” Dr Downs said.

“First Nations companies and those with a focus on beverages are also a real interest for us.

“And, of course, we are continuing to promote our Co-Investment Rounds with Meat & Livestock Australia, and the Grains Research and Development Corporation.”

Industry partners work closely with researchers on the development of projects, to ensure outcomes will meet business needs. All Intellectual Property associated with projects remains with the industry partner.

“FaBA is here to help the food and beverage industry to navigate the university environment.

“Uniquely, we can bring together researchers from across The University of Queensland, QUT and the University of Southern Queensland, which ensures world-class expertise and facilities are available,” Dr Downs said.

Don’t miss the opportunity to work with FaBA while investment is still available. Interested companies are encouraged to contact the FaBA Business Development and Commercialisation Team for more information.
