Blazing a trail for industry-led research
Australian universities are recognised globally for their ability to deliver fundamental research – now the Trailblazer Program is helping academics deliver commercialisation outcomes to match.
The Universities Launch was held at The University of Queensland (UQ) in August to provide an opportunity for researchers from UQ, Queensland University of Technology and the University of Southern Queensland to learn more about how they can work with FaBA’s Industry Participants on industry-led research challenges.
Representatives from the Australian Department of Education attended the FaBA Universities Launch to discuss ways that food and beverage researchers could help deliver industry-led research.
Dr Anthony Millgate, Assistant Secretary Research Commercialisation in the Australian Department of Education, spoke about the opportunity for Australian researchers to rapidly build world-leading research commercialisation capability through the $370 million Trailblazer Universities Program.
He said the TUP enables universities to recognise the true commercial value of innovative research and promotes a culture of collaboration between academics and industry.
FaBA’s Program Leaders attended the Launch and spoke with researchers wanting to learn more about how they could become involved.
