Award is ‘all good’ for All G

Food tech startup and FaBA Industry Participant All G has been named the Inaugural FaBA Startup of the Year at the 2024 UQ Entrepreneurship and Innovation Awards.

All G was recognised for its work to revolutionise the production of dairy proteins using precision fermentation, in turn reducing the environmental impact of the dairy and agriculture industry.

In presenting the award, Chair of the FaBA Industry Steering Committee Dr Peter Riddles said the award represented an opportunity to connect people across the startup ecosystem and to build pathways for economic success.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate the individuals who find their way in startups. The environment is challenging and you require tenacity to keep going – this should be applauded,” Dr Riddles said.

The University of Queensland Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said UQ encouraged an entrepreneurial mindset.

“The way forward is – as it has been so many points in human history – undeniably, through innovation and entrepreneurship,” Professor Terry said.

“To those entrepreneurs, I say, keep doing what you’re doing – keep striving, keep leading from the front, and most importantly, keep asking, ‘what’s next?’”

The judging panel, which used an independent voting process to determine the winner, commended the nominees that came from startup companies across Australia.

“The way forward is – as it has been so many points in human history - undeniably, through innovation and entrepreneurship.”
